Home Sound Samples Order the CD Reviews It's Been So Long is a tour de force, classic songwriting, beautifully simple and powerful, all bouncing along on rock solid arrangements sweetened by airy harmonies, this is music at it's purest. You haven't heard guitar work this sure handed since the days of J.J. Cale. Tracks like "I Can Change You", "It's Been So Long", "Light The Fire" and "Nomad" all sound amazingly timeless. They contain the best qualities of "classic rock" recording, when AM radio was still cool. Soaring harmonies and minimalist bass, drums and guitar arrangements all add up to a walk through the halls of Pop Heaven. "With the One I Love" sounds like Aztec Two Step meets Quicksilver Messenger Service while "And You Will Know God" has an anthem like, world weary confidence of songs that will be sung for generations. On nearly every track, acoustic and electric guitars overlap sounding almost like one instrument creating a unique foundation that has a very natural, pleasing quality. A feeling of breezy reassurance is present throughout the entire disc. - Dan Kelly Levittown, PA
A guitar-lover's dream. Jamie cooks a complete menu of different guitar textures and serves up all your favorites in here... from melodic phrasing to electric soul, acoustic melancholy, and rock 'n' roll punch! Genuine artistry with more than enough craft to hold your interest after many repeated listenings. But the fretwork is only the backdrop in support of some masterful, original songwriting. Each song plays as a journey -sustained by a thoughtful production quality and made richer by the contributions of good vocalists and musicians. Lots of neat surprises! - Robert Lange Chestnut Ridge, NY
I can put It's Been So Long on repeat and listen to it over and over again all day. This recording is deep! No matter how many times I listen to it I never get tired of it because each time I find myself discovering something new... some subtle nuance, some tiny little sound that I didn't notice before. In a music world where everything on the radio sounds like it was squeezed out of the same digitized, sterilized, formulized tube, discovering It's Been So Long has restored my faith that something good can still happen! Long live the Indie Artist movement! - Jon Smucker Lancaster, PA Inspiring, challenging, pleasing, exciting, AWESOME are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think about describing It's Been So Long. This wonderful compilation of songs was created with Jamie's usual meticulous care and attention. His guitar work -- acoustic and electric -- is dazzling (how's he do dat?) and the vocal harmonies are tight and sometimes spine-tingling. It's Been So Long is also a great disc to listen to under headphones ... lots of cool things you might miss otherwise. - David Young New Ipswich, NH
Wow, awesome! I played It's Been So Long while I did the housework this morning. Loved it, very Phil Keaggy-like. I Should have gotten your autograph so that when you're on the big stage I can say I knew you when... Congratulations on your accomplishment! - Michelle Delp Ulster, PA

After every listen to "It's Been So Long", I walk around happily singing songs from it for hours. - Jim Scobel Pittsburgh, PA Hello Jamie & Judy! Your CD that I purchased last week is AWESOME!! I am impressed! Beside all your talents, I believe the Holy Spirit is going to touch all those who listen. It's hard to explain how I feel when I play the music. It's like I've known you both a very long time and these songs were meant to be. They make me feel peace and joy. The exception being The Price, which brings tears to my eyes. And for a girl who went to hundreds of Rock n' Roll concerts, I must say you're right there with the best of them, Jamie, on Let Him Reign. It ROCKS! When my husband heard it this morning he said, "Who's that you're listening to - Alvin Lee?" No joke! Then Nomad is a great "cruisin" tune, Just makes me want to take a road trip. In closing, thank you for using your time, talents and life for Jesus Christ. A Fan Forever, - Janis Banes Green Lane, PA

The
new album It's Been So Long by Jamie Thompson has what I always
looked for in the music of the Beatles and John Lennon. When coming home
from a long hard day I find myself putting the CD on to relax. Judy's
voice is the perfect compliment to Jamie’s song styles and has a
soothing, healing effect on me. I also find it such a delightful treat
to hear songs like Let Him Reign, a piece that exemplifies
Jamie's mastery of the guitar. This
collection of songs will have you searching, testing and realizing the
truths and meanings we all know are in the fabric of life. At
an early age Jamie had distinguished himself in our old neighborhood as
the area's finest musician, dedicated and unswerving and once again he
has proved to us with It's Been So Long that these qualities in
him are enduring. He also reminds me of the path I'm walking, why I walk
it, and I need that on a daily basis. Having known Jamie for over thirty
years, it's a wondrous journey trying to fit his past with his present.
Songs like The Price, which speaks to the problem of abortion in
our nation. Nomad, inspired by Jamie's destinationless relocation to
California in 1982. And the final closing skit, Leave a Message -
a dedication to our mutual Firesign Theater past and a personal
greeting to me, his longtime friend and collaborator on many creative
projects. Thank you, Gerry!! This
album is his sweetest fruit to date coming from a tree that holds
immense potential for musical artistry. I stand greedily under it's bows
awaiting the fall of its next juice laden fruit. Keep doin' it to our
heads, Jamie! - Philip Schmohl Fredericksburg, VA
The website looks excellent and I'm groovin' on the music!! Love them old guitars!! God bless. - Billy Goodman Heidelberg, Germany
